Cancer: what is this?
Cancer: what is this?
We all have heard about cancer, and we possibly know that it can affect any part of the body. “Cancer” is a generic term for a large group of diseases. According to World Health Organization
(WHO), cancer is the rapid creation of abnormal cells that grow beyond their usual boundaries, and which can invade other parts of the body and spread to other organs.
There are many possible causes for cancer development, as genetic factos and/or external agents.
The external agents can be physical (ultraviolet and ionizing radiation), chemical (as tabacco smoke and food contaminant) and biological (virus, bacteria or parasites) carcinogens.
These factos causes changes to the cell gene, causing uncontrolled cell growth and division due to permantly activated oncogenes. Oncogenes are the altered genes in question and they can’t be turned off. That is the reason of the uncontrolled cell growth.
VyroBio is developing a technology to fight brain tumos through genetically modified ZikaVirys.
Our technology imposes a treatment that does not harm the patient’s overall health, unlike chemio and radiotherapy.
We are excited at the perspective of entering clinical trials in early 2024.
